Sometime ago, I participated in a Sue Kemnitz class… “sketching the artful ladies”. I am so in love with her style. I know there are some similarities in my “soulful ladies”. But, I believe my style will rise to the top over time.
soulful lady #1
was done in my Dina Wakley Art Journal…using Dina’s Scribble Sticks. She was inspired by 2 Samuel 6:14, “And David danced before the LORD with all his might.”
When I took Sue’s class, I created 3 backgrounds. Soulful lady #2 was sketched and painted on one of those backgrounds. I love the bright colors…but the gray really draws me in. She holds her heart as an offering…asking the Lord… “Create in me a clean hear, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10.
These little houses just seem to contribute to the whimsical feel of the painting. I hope you love her…she can be found in the store.
This blogging thing is pretty new to me. So, I hope you will bear with me as I develop a more satisfying form. There are bloggers that I really love…so I hope to grow into a blogging style that will appeal to me and to you.
Love you all! Thanks for stopping by…
